સુમહાત્મા ત્રિતનો મહાયજ્ઞ ચાલી રહ્યો હતો. એ પવિત્ર યજ્ઞમંડપમાં—જ્યાં વિધિની વ્યવસ્થા અને ધર્મસંકલ્પ આગળની ઘટનાઓને આકાર આપે છે—ત્યાંથી કથા આગળ વધે છે.
