दिष्टया दिष्टयैव चान्योन्यं समेत्योचुर्महारथा: । उस समय पाण्डवोंके लिये महान् विनाशकारी जनसंहार करके वे तीनों महारथी जब परस्पर मिले, तब आपसमें कहने लगे--'“बड़े सौभाग्यसे यह कार्य सिद्ध हुआ है ।।
diṣṭyā diṣṭyaiva cānyonyaṁ sametyocur mahārathāḥ | us samaya pāṇḍavānāṁ kṛte mahān vināśakārī jana-saṁhāraṁ kṛtvā te trayo mahārathī yadā parasparaṁ militāḥ, tadā anyonyaṁ ūcuḥ— “baḍe saubhāgya se yaha kārya siddha huā hai” || paryaṣvajat tato drauṇis tābhyāṁ sampratinanditaḥ ||
સંજય બોલ્યા—તે મહારથીઓ પરસ્પર મળીને બોલ્યા—“દિષ્ટ્યા! દિષ્ટ્યા!” તે સમયે પાંડવો માટે અત્યંત વિનાશકારી જનસંહાર કરીને, તે ત્રણ મહારથીઓ એકત્ર થયા અને પરસ્પર કહેવા લાગ્યા—“મહાન સૌભાગ્યથી આ કાર્ય સિદ્ધ થયું છે.” ત્યારબાદ બંનેના અભિનંદનથી પ્રસન્ન થયેલા દ્રૌણિ (અશ્વત્થામા) એ તેમને આલિંગન કર્યું.
