अध्याय १ — न्यग्रोधवनोपवेशनम् तथा द्रौणिनिश्चयः
Night at the Banyan and Drauṇi’s Resolve
कृतं सत्यं वचस्तस्य विदुरस्थ महात्मन: । अकुर्वता वचस्तेन मम पुत्रेण संजय,संजय! मेरे पुत्रने मेरी बात न मानकर महात्मा विदुरके कहे हुए वचनको सत्य कर दिखाया
kṛtaṃ satyaṃ vacas tasya vidurastha mahātmanaḥ | akurvatā vacas tena mama putreṇa saṃjaya ||
સંજય બોલ્યો—મહાત્મા વિદુરનાં વચન સત્ય સાબિત થયાં. સંજય, મારા પુત્રે મારી વાત ન માનીને વિદુરે જે પરિણામ કહ્યું હતું તે જ પરિણામ ઊભું કર્યું.
