अध्याय ६४ — सभामध्ये क्रोध-निवारणम्

स विज्ञेय: पुरुषो<न्यत्रकामो निन्दाप्रशंसे हि तथा युनक्ति | जिह्दा कथं ते हृदयं व्यनक्ति यो न ज्यायस: कृथा मनस: प्रातिकूल्यम्
sa vijñeyaḥ puruṣo ’nyatrakāmo nindāpraśaṃse hi tathā yunakti | jihvā kathaṃ te hṛdayaṃ vyanakti yo na jyāyasaḥ kṛthā manasaḥ prātikūlyam ||
જે પુરુષ પરાયા પક્ષ તરફ ઝુકે છે તે સહેલાઈથી ઓળખાઈ જાય છે; કારણ કે જેને દ્વેષ કરે તેની નિંદામાં અને જેને રાગ રાખે તેની પ્રશંસામાં તે લાગેલો રહે છે. અમારા પ્રત્યે તારા હૃદયમાં કેવો વૈર ભરાયો છે તે તારી જ જીભ પ્રગટ કરે છે. તારા કરતાં શ્રેષ્ઠ પુરુષો પ્રત્યે મનની આ પ્રતિકૂળતા આ રીતે પ્રગટ ન કર.
