सनागप्त्त्यश्वरथे उभे बले विचित्रवर्माभरणाम्बरायुधे । चकम्पतुर्विस्मयनीयरूपे वियद्गताश्चार्जुनकर्णसंयुगे
sanāgapattyaśvarathe ubhe bale vicitravarmābharaṇāmbarāyudhe | cakampatur vismayanīyarūpe viyadgatāś cārjunakarṇasaṃyuge ||
સંજય બોલ્યા—હાથી, ઘોડા, રથ અને પાયદળ સહિત બંને પક્ષોની ચતુરંગિણી સેનાઓ, વિચિત્ર કવચ-આભૂષણ-વસ્ત્ર-આયુધોથી સજ્જ, અર્જુન અને કર્ણના તે અદ્ભુત દ્વંદ્વયુદ્ધને જોઈ ભય અને વિસ્મયથી કંપવા લાગી. આકાશમાં વિચરતા પ્રાણીઓ પણ ભયથી થરથરી ઊઠ્યા।
