श्रूयन्ते विविधा राजन्‌ नामान्युद्धिश्य भारत । भरतवंशी नरेश! उस समय नाम ले-लेकर गरजते हुए शूरवीरोंकी भाँति-भाँतिकी बातें अविच्छिन्न-रूपसे सुनायी पड़ती थीं

śrūyante vividhā rājan nāmāny uddiśya bhārata | bharatavaṃśī nareśa! usa samaya nāma le-lekara garjate hue śūravīroṃ kī bhānti-bhānti kī bāteṃ avicchinna-rūpa se sunāyī paṛtī thīṃ

સંજય બોલ્યા— રાજન, ભારત! તે સમયે નામ લઈને ગર્જતા શૂરવીરોના નાનાવિધ નાદ સંભળાતા હતા; ભરતવંશી નરેશ! રણભૂમિ સતત વિવિધ પોકારો અને નામોચ્ચારોથી ગુંજતી હતી।
