पृष्ठगोप्ता तु कर्णस्य ज्येष्ठ; ओ महारथ: । वृषसेन: स्वयं कर्ण पृष्ठत: पर्यपालयत्
pṛṣṭhagoptā tu karṇasya jyeṣṭhaḥ, o mahārathaḥ | vṛṣasenaḥ svayaṃ karṇa pṛṣṭhataḥ paryapālayat |
સંજય બોલ્યો—હે મહારથોમાં શ્રેષ્ઠ! કર્ણનો જ્યેષ્ઠ પુત્ર મહારથી વૃષસેન સ્વયં કર્ણના પીઠભાગે રહી પાછળથી આવતાં પ્રહારો અટકાવી તેની રક્ષા કરતો હતો।
