कर्णेन सैन्यस्थापनं तथा नानायुद्धसमवायः
Karna Reforms the Host and Multiple Duels Converge
ततो निवारित: कर्णों धार्तराष्ट्रेण मारिष | कर्णो5पि नोत्तरं प्राह शल्यो5प्यभिमुख: परान् । ततः प्रहस्य राधेय: पुनर्याहीत्यचोदयत्,मान्यवर! दुर्योधनके मना करनेपर कर्णने कोई उत्तर नहीं दिया और शल्यने भी शत्रुओंकी ओर मुँह फेर लिया। तब राधापुत्र कर्णने हँसकर शल्यको रथ बढ़ानेकी आज्ञा देते हुए कहा--“चलो, चलो”
tato nivāritaḥ karṇo dhārtarāṣṭreṇa māriṣa | karṇo 'pi nottaraṃ prāha śalyo 'py abhimukhaḥ parān | tataḥ prahasya rādheyaḥ punar yāhīty acodayat ||
સંજય બોલ્યા—માન્યવર! ધાર્તરાષ્ટ્રપુત્ર (દુર્યોધન)એ રોકતાં કર્ણે કોઈ ઉત્તર આપ્યો નહીં અને શલ્ય પણ શત્રુઓ તરફ મોઢું કરીને રહ્યો. ત્યાર પછી રાધેય (કર્ણ) હસીને શલ્યને રથ આગળ વધારવાની આજ્ઞા આપતાં બોલ્યો—“ચાલો, ફરી આગળ વધો।”
