उच्छिष्टभोजन: काको यथा वैश्यकुले पुरा

Transliteration

ucchiṣṭa-bhojanaḥ kāko yathā vaiśya-kule purā | pūrva-kāle meṁ vaha kauā jaise vaiśya-kula meṁ sabkī jūṭhan khākar palā thā, usī prakāra dhṛtarāṣṭra-ke putroṁ ne tumheṁ jūṭha-dān khilā-khilākar pālā hai, ismeṁ saṁśaya nahīṁ hai | karṇa! isīse tuma apne samāna tathā apne-se śreṣṭha puruṣoṁ kā bhī apamāna karate ho ||

Translation

જેમ પૂર્વકાળમાં એક કાગડો વૈશ્યકુળમાં સૌની જૂઠણ ખાઈને પોષાતો હતો, તેમ જ ધૃતરાષ્ટ્રના પુત્રોએ પણ તને વારંવાર જૂઠું ખવડાવીને પાળ્યો છે—એમાં શંકા નથી. કર્ણ! તેથી જ તું પોતાના સમાન અને પોતાના કરતાં શ્રેષ્ઠ પુરુષોનું પણ અપમાન કરે છે.
