कर्णेन युधिष्ठिरानीकविदारणम् / Karṇa’s Breach of Yudhiṣṭhira’s Battle-Line
योक्त्राणि चक्रुर्वाहानां रोहकांस्तत्र कण्टकान् । इन्द्र, वरुण, यम और कुबेर--इन चार लोकपालोंको देवताओंने उस रथके घोड़े बनाये। सिनीवाली, अनुमति, कुह्दू तथा उत्तम व्रतका पालन करनेवाली राका इनकी अधिष्ठात्री देवियोंको घोड़ोंके जोतेका रूप दिया और इनके अधिकारी देवताओंको घोड़ोंकी लगामोंके काँटे बनाया
yoktrāṇi cakrur vāhānāṁ rohakāṁs tatra kaṇṭakān
દુર્યોધને કહ્યું—તેમણે ઘોડાઓ માટે યોક્ત્ર (જું/હાર્નેસ) બનાવ્યાં, અને ત્યાં જ લગામોના કાંટા તથા અંકુશસમાન નિયંત્રકો પણ રચ્યાં. ઇન્દ્ર, વરુણ, યમ અને કુબેર—આ ચાર લોકપાલ તે રથના ઘોડા બન્યા; સીનીવાલી, અનુમતિ, કુહૂ અને રાકા—આ અધિષ્ઠાત્રી દેવીઓ જુંનું સ્વરૂપ બની; અને તેમના અધિકારી દેવતાઓ લગામોના તીક્ષ્ણ નિયંત્રક (કાંટા) બન્યા।
