Pāṇḍya-vadha-anantaram Arjunasya Pravṛttiḥ
Arjuna’s Response and the Renewed Battle
तैराहतौ सर्वमनुष्यमुख्या- वसृक् स्रवन्तौ धनदेन्द्रकल्पौ | समाप्तविद्येन तथाभिभूतौ हतौ रणे ताविति मेनिरेडन्ये,उन बाणोंसे आहत होकर सम्पूर्ण मनुष्योंमें श्रेष्ठ, कुबेर और इन्द्रके समान पराक्रमी वे दोनों वीर श्रीकृष्ण और अर्जुन अपने अंगोंसे रक्त बहाने लगे। जिसकी विद्या पूरी हो चुकी थी, उस अअभश्रत्थामाके द्वारा इस प्रकार पराभवको प्राप्त हुए उन दोनोंको अन्य सब लोगोंने यही समझा कि “वे रणभूमिमें मारे गये”
tair āhatau sarva-manuṣya-mukhyau vasṛk-sravantau dhanadendra-kalpau | samāpta-vidyena tathābhibhūtau hatau raṇe tāv iti menire ’nye ||
સંજય બોલ્યા—તે બાણોથી આહત થઈ મનુષ્યોમાં શ્રેષ્ઠ, કુબેર અને ઇન્દ્ર સમાન પરાક્રમી એવા બંને વીરો—શ્રીકૃષ્ણ અને અર્જુન—તેમના અંગોમાંથી રક્ત વહાવા લાગ્યા. યુદ્ધવિદ્યા પૂર્ણ કરેલા દ્રૌણિ અશ્વત્થામાએ આ રીતે તેમને દબાવ્યા જોઈને, રણભૂમિમાં અન્ય લોકોએ માન્યું કે ‘આ બંને યુદ્ધમાં માર્યા ગયા.’
