अश्वत्थाम्नस्तु यद् युद्धमर्जुनस्य च संजय । अन्येषां च महीपानां पाण्डवैस्तद् ब्रवीहि मे,सूत! अश्वत्थामा और अर्जुनका जो युद्ध हुआ था तथा अन्य पाण्डवोंके साथ अन्यान्य नरेशोंका जैसा संग्राम हुआ था, उसका मुझसे वर्णन करो
aśvatthāmnas tu yad yuddham arjunasya ca sañjaya | anyeṣāṃ ca mahīpānāṃ pāṇḍavais tad bravīhi me ||
સૂત! અશ્વત્થામા અને અર્જુનનું જે યુદ્ધ થયું હતું તથા પાંડવો સામે અન્ય રાજાઓના જે જે સંઘર્ષ થયા હતા, તેનું વર્ણન મને કહો.
