Droṇa’s sweeping assault and the Abhimanyu–Jayadratha close-quarters episode (द्रोणस्य भीषणव्यचरितम् / सौभद्र-जयद्रथ-संनिपातः)
यत्नमाना: प्रयत्नेन द्रोणानीकविशातने । न शेकुः सृञ्जया युद्धे तद्धि द्रोणेन पालितम्
yatnamānāḥ prayatnena droṇānīka-viśātane | na śekuḥ sṛñjayā yuddhe taddhi droṇena pālitam | āptair āśu parijñātaṃ bhāradvāja-cikīrṣitam |
સંજય બોલ્યો—દ્રોણની સેનાવ્યૂહનો વિનાશ કરવા સૃંજયો મહાપ્રયત્નથી જઝૂમ્યા, પરંતુ તે યુદ્ધમાં સફળ ન થયા; કારણ કે તે સેના દ્રોણાચાર્ય દ્વારા સઘન રીતે સુરક્ષિત હતી. અને વિશ્વસ્ત લોકો દ્વારા ભારદ્વાજપુત્ર દ્રોણનો અભિપ્રાય તત્કાળ જાણી લેવાયો.
