महाव्यूहप्रवर्तनम् / Deployment of the Great Battle Arrays
आपकी सेनाओंके सेनापति अस्त्र-शस्त्रोंके ज्ञाता एवं नरवीर योद्धा थे। उनसे विधिपूर्वक अनुशासित हो रथसमूह
nānāraṅgāḥ samare tatra rājan meghairyutā vidyutaḥ khe yathaiva | vandaiḥ sthitāścāpi susamprayuktāḥ śaśakāśire dantigaṇāḥ samantāt ||
સંજય બોલ્યો—તમારી સેનાઓના સેનાપતિઓ અસ્ત્ર-શસ્ત્રના જાણકાર નરવીર હતા. તેમના વિધિપૂર્વકના અનુશાસનમાં જ્યારે રથસમૂહો, પદાતિ, ગજ અને અશ્વદળ રણભૂમિ તરફ આગળ વધ્યા, ત્યારે તેમના પગલાંથી ઊઠેલી ધૂળ સૂર્યકિરણોને ઢાંકી પ્રાતઃકાળના સૂર્યપ્રભા જેવી કાંતિમતી લાગી. રથો અને હાથીઓ પર ઊભી કરેલી ધ્વજાઓ ચારે તરફ પવનના વેગથી ફફડતી શોભા પામતી હતી. અને હે રાજન, જેમ આકાશમાં મેઘો વચ્ચે વીજળી ચમકે, તેમ તે સમરાંગણમાં અનેક રંગોથી સજ્જ હાથીઓના ઝુંડ ચારે તરફ તેજસ્વી બની ઊભા હતા; સુવ્યવસ્થિત રીતે ગોઠવાયેલા અને સુંદર રીતે સંચાલિત થઈ તેઓ રણભૂમિને ભયમિશ્રિત વૈભવ આપતા હતા।
