महाव्यूह: कलिज्रानामेकेन मृदितस्त्वया । “आपने अकेले अपनी ही भुजाओंके बल और पराक्रमसे कलिंगोंके उस महान्‌ व्यूहको रौंदकर मिट्टीमें मिला दिया

Transliteration

sañjaya uvāca | mahāvyūhaḥ kaliṅgānām ekena mṛditas tvayā |

Translation

“કલિંગોનો તે મહાવ્યૂહ તમે એકલા જ કચડીને નષ્ટ કરી દીધો. તમારા પોતાના બાહુબળ અને પરાક્રમથી તમે તે ઘન ગોઠવણી—હાથી, ઘોડા અને રથોથી ભરેલી—ભેદીને ધૂળમાં મિલાવી દીધી. તેના ઘણા સૈનિકો જગતના શ્રેષ્ઠ પુરુષોમાં ગણાતા, અને અસંખ્ય ધીર-વીર યોદ્ધાઓએ તે મહાવ્યૂહમાં આશ્રય લીધો હતો।”
