sañjaya uvāca | rājan śatasahasrāṇi tatra tatra padātīnām | nirmaryādīni yuddhāni tat te vakṣyāmi bhārata ||

Translation

સંજય બોલ્યા—રાજન! તે રણભૂમિમાં અહીં ત્યાં પદાતિઓના શતસહસ્રો મર્યાદા વિના ઉગ્ર યુદ્ધ કરી રહ્યા હતા. હે ભારત! તે બધું હું તમને કહું છું—સાંભળો.
