जग्मुस्ते परलोकाय व्यादितास्यमिवान्तकम् | वे युद्धसे पीठ न दिखानेवाले
sañjaya uvāca | jagmus te paralokāya vyāditāsyam ivāntakam |
તે યોદ્ધાઓ જાણે મોં ફાડીને ઊભેલા મૃત્યુમાં પ્રવેશ કરતા હોય તેમ પરલોકને ગયા. યુદ્ધમાં પીઠ ન બતાવનારા, શૌર્યસંપન્ન અને સુવર્ણ ધ્વજ ધારણ કરનારા તેઓ બધા ભીષ્મ પાસે ધસી આવ્યા; અને ઘોડા, રથ તથા હાથીઓ સહિત પરલોકમાર્ગના પથિક બની ગયા.
