नायं संरक्षितुं काल: प्राणान् पुत्रोपजीविभि: । याहि स्वर्ग पुरस्कृत्य यशसे विजयाय च,“बेटा! आश्रित रहकर जीविका चलानेवाले पुरुषोंके लिये यह अपने प्राणोंकी रक्षाका अवसर नहीं है। तुम स्वर्गको सामने रखकर यश और विजयकी प्राप्तिके लिये भीष्मजीके पास जाओ
na ayaṁ saṁrakṣituṁ kālaḥ prāṇān putropajīvibhiḥ | yāhi svargaṁ puraskṛtya yaśase vijayāya ca |
સંજય બોલ્યો— “પુત્રો પર આધાર રાખીને જીવનાર પુરુષો માટે આ પોતાના પ્રાણોની રક્ષા માટે ચોંટીને રહેવાનો સમય નથી. સ્વર્ગને આગળ રાખીને, યશ અને વિજયની ઇચ્છાથી ભીષ્મ પાસે જા.”
