भीष्मरथाभिमुख्यं — Arjuna’s advance with Śikhaṇḍin; Duḥśāsana’s interception
चर्मभिक्षामरैश्षित्रै: पताकाभिक्न मारिष | छत्रै: सितैहेमदण्डैश्वामरैश्व समनन्तत:
carma-bhikṣāmaraiś citraiḥ patākābhikhnā māriṣa | chatraiḥ sitaiḥ hema-daṇḍaiś cāmaraiś ca samanantataḥ ||
સંજય બોલ્યા—માનનીય મહારાજ! ચારે તરફ ઢાલો, વિચિત્ર ચામરો અને ફાટેલી પતાકાઓ વિખેરાઈ પડી હતી; ત્યાં જ સુવર્ણદંડવાળા શ્વેત છત્રો અને રાજચામરો પણ પડ્યા હતા. આ વિખેરાયેલા વૈભવ ઉપરથી, નવાં મેઘઘટા સમા હાથીઓ મેઘ જેવી ભયંકર ગર્જના કરતા સર્વ દિશાઓમાં દોડતા દેખાયા.
