न व | / |! ( ४ 5 ॥ भक्ष्यखाण्डवरागाणां क्रियतां भुज्यतां तथा । पशूनां बध्यतां चैव नान््तं ददृशिरे जना:
Vaiśampāyana uvāca | bhakṣya-khāṇḍava-rāgāṇāṃ kriyatāṃ bhujyatāṃ tathā | paśūnāṃ badhyatāṃ caiva nāntaṃ dadṛśire janāḥ ||
વૈશંપાયન બોલ્યા— ત્યાં ભક્ષ્ય-ભોજ્ય પદાર્થો અને ખાંડવરાગ નામનું મધુર પાનિય એટલી અતિશય માત્રામાં બનાવાતું અને ભોગવાતું હતું કે લોકો તેને કોઈ અંત દેખી શકતા ન હતા. તેમ જ ત્યાં બંધાયેલા પશુઓની સંખ્યાનો પણ કોઈ પાર દેખાતો ન હતો.
