एतद्।ि नित्यं यत्नेन पद रक्ष्यं नराधिप । बहुप्रत्यर्थिकं होतद् राज्यं नाम कुरूद्धह,“कुरुश्रेष्ठ! नरेश्वर! राज्यके बहुत-से शत्रु होते हैं; अतः इसकी सदा ही यत्नपूर्वक रक्षा करनी चाहिये”
etad hi nityaṁ yatnena padaṁ rakṣyaṁ narādhipa | bahupratyarthikaṁ hy etad rājyaṁ nāma kurūdvaha ||
વૈશંપાયન બોલ્યા—હે નરાધિપ! દરેક પગલે તેનું સદા પ્રયત્નપૂર્વક રક્ષણ કરવું જોઈએ; કારણ કે ‘રાજ્ય’ નામની આ સત્તા અનેક પ્રતિસ્પર્ધીઓ અને શત્રુઓથી ઘેરાયેલી રહે છે, હે કુરુશ્રેષ્ઠ!
