Chatra–Upānah Dāna: Origin Narrative
Jamadagni–Reṇukā–Sūrya Saṃvāda
तमाहुरारता ऋषयो महर्षि न ते वयं पुष्करं चोरयाम: । मिथ्याभिषंगो भवता न कार्य: शपाम तीक्ष्णै: शपथैर्महर्षे
tam āhur āratā ṛṣayo maharṣi na te vayaṁ puṣkaraṁ corayāmaḥ | mithyābhiṣaṅgo bhavatā na kāryaḥ śapāma tīkṣṇaiḥ śapathair maharṣe ||
આ સાંભળીને મહર્ષિઓ ગભરાઈ ગયા અને તે મહર્ષિને બોલ્યા—“મહર્ષે! અમે તમારું કમળ ચોર્યું નથી. અમારે પર ખોટો આરોપ ન લગાવો. અમારી નિર્દોષતા સાબિત કરવા માટે અમે અતિ કઠોર શપથ પણ લેવા તૈયાર છીએ.”
