गाव: पवित्रा: पुण्याश्व॒ पावनं परमं महत् | ताश्च दत्त्वा द्विजातिभ्यो नर: स्वर्गमुपाशुते
gāvaḥ pavitrāḥ puṇyāśva pāvanaṁ paramaṁ mahat | tāś ca dattvā dvijātibhyo naraḥ svargam upāśnute ||
ગાયો પરમ પવિત્ર, પુણ્યસ્વરૂપ અને સર્વોત્તમ પાવન કરનાર છે. તેમને દ્વિજોને (વિશેષ કરીને બ્રાહ્મણોને) દાન આપવાથી મનુષ્ય સ્વર્ગસુખ ભોગવે છે.
