Origin and Supremacy of Gold as Ritual Fee
गुणवचनसमुच्चयैकदेशो नृवर मयैष गवां प्रकीर्तितस्ते । न च परमिह दानमस्ति गोभ्यो भवति न चापि परायणं तथान्यत्
guṇavacanasamuccayaikadeśo nṛvara mayaiva eṣa gavāṁ prakīrtitas te | na ca param iha dānam asti gobhyo bhavati na cāpi parāyaṇaṁ tathā anyat ||
વસિષ્ઠે કહ્યું— હે નરશ્રેષ્ઠ! ગાયોના ગુણગાનના સંકલનમાંથી મેં તને માત્ર એક નાનો અંશ જ કહ્યો છે—માત્ર દિશાસૂચન. આ લોકમાં ગોદાનથી ઊંચું દાન નથી, અને તેમની સમાન બીજું કોઈ આશ્રય પણ નથી.
