Cyavana’s Yogic Display and Kuśika’s Recognition of Tapas (च्यवन-योगप्रभावः कुशिकस्य तपःप्रशंसा च)
नहुष बोले--विप्रवर! इन निषादोंको एक लाख मुद्रा दीजिये। (यों पुरोहितको आज्ञा देकर वे मुनिसे बोले--) भगवन्! क्या यह आपका उचित मूल्य हो सकता है या अभी आप कुछ और देना चाहते हैं? ।।
cyavana uvāca | nāhaṃ śatasahasreṇa nimeyaḥ pārthivarṣabha | dīyatāṃ sadṛśaṃ mūlyam amātyaiḥ saha cintaya ||
નહુષ બોલ્યો—“વિપ્રવર! આ નિષાદોને એક લાખ મુદ્રા આપો.” (પુરોહિતને આજ્ઞા આપી પછી મુનિને કહ્યું—) “ભગવન્! શું આ જ તમારું યોગ્ય મૂલ્ય હોઈ શકે, કે હજી કંઈ વધુ આપવું ઇચ્છો છો?” ચ્યવન બોલ્યા—“નૃપશ્રેષ્ઠ! મને માત્ર એક લાખમાં ન માપો. યોગ્ય પ્રતિફળ આપો; આ વિષયમાં તમારા મંત્રીઓ સાથે વિચાર કરો.”
