च्यवन उवाच सहस्रन॑ नाहमहामि किं वा त्वं मन्‍्यसे नृप । सदृशं दीयतां मूल्यं स्वबुद्ध्या निश्चयं कुरु

Transliteration

Cyavana uvāca: sahasreṇa nāham ahāmi kiṁ vā tvaṁ manyase nṛpa | sadṛśaṁ dīyatāṁ mūlyaṁ svabuddhyā niścayaṁ kuru ||

Translation

ચ્યવનએ કહ્યું—હે નરેશ્વર! હું માત્ર એક હજાર મુદ્રાઓમાં ખરીદાય એવો નથી. શું તમે મારું મૂલ્ય એટલું જ માનો છો? મારા યોગ્ય મૂલ્ય આપો; તે કેટલું હોવું જોઈએ તે પોતાની બુદ્ધિથી વિચાર કરીને નક્કી કરો.
