पात्रलक्षण-परिक्षा (Pātra-Lakṣaṇa Parīkṣā) — Criteria for a Worthy Recipient
वासयेत गृहे राजन् न तस्मात् परमस्ति वै । राजन! विशुद्ध जातिसे युक्त तथा तीक्ष्ण व्रतका पालन करनेवाले धर्मज्ञ ब्राह्मणको अपने घरमें ठहराना चाहिये। इससे बढ़कर दूसरा कोई पुण्यकर्म नहीं है
vāsayet gṛhe rājan na tasmāt param asti vai |
ભીષ્મે કહ્યું—હે રાજન! પોતાના ઘરમાં અતિથિને વસાવવો જોઈએ; તેનાથી ઊંચું પુણ્ય નથી. વિશેષ કરીને વિશુદ્ધ જાતિનો, કઠોર વ્રત પાળનાર અને ધર્મજ્ઞ બ્રાહ્મણને પોતાના ગૃહમાં નિવાસ આપવો—તે કરતાં શ્રેષ્ઠ બીજું કોઈ પુણ્યકર્મ નથી.
