पात्रलक्षण-परिक्षा (Pātra-Lakṣaṇa Parīkṣā) — Criteria for a Worthy Recipient
आगतानागते चोभे ब्राह्मणो द्विपदं वर: । ब्राह्मणो भरतश्रेष्ठ स्वरधर्म चैव वेद यः:
āgatānāgate cobhe brāhmaṇo dvipadaṃ varaḥ | brāhmaṇo bharataśreṣṭha svadharmaṃ caiva veda yaḥ ||
ભીષ્મે કહ્યું—બ્રાહ્મણ દ્વિપદોમાં શ્રેષ્ઠ છે, કારણ કે તે ભૂત અને અનાગત—બન્ને જાણે છે. હે ભરતશ્રેષ્ઠ, જે પોતાનો સ્વધર્મ યથાર્થ જાણીને તે મુજબ આચરણ કરે છે, તે જ ખરેખર બ્રાહ્મણ છે.
