Gṛhastha-Vrata
न हाल्प॑ दुष्कृतं नो$स्ति येनाग्निनाशमागत: । भवतां चाथवा महां तत्त्वेनेतद् विमृश्यताम्
na hālpaṃ duṣkṛtaṃ no 'sti yenāgnināśam āgataḥ | bhavatāṃ cāthavā mahān tattvenaitad vimṛśyatām ||
અગ્નિ અદૃશ્ય થવા જેટલું કોઈ નાનું દુષ્કૃત્ય આપણાથી થયું નથી. આ દોષ તમારો છે કે મારો—સત્યરૂપે વિચાર કરો।
भीष्म उवाच
Bhishma urges truthful self-scrutiny and moral accountability: when an ominous event occurs, one should not dismiss it as minor, but examine—without bias—where responsibility truly lies.
Agni has become invisible/vanished, and Bhishma addresses those present, stating that such a sign implies no small offense; he calls for a careful inquiry into whether the fault belongs to them or to himself.
