यथा ह्ुपस्थितैश्वर्या: प्रजायन्ते न राजसा: । एवमेवात्मना5७त्मानं पूजयन्तीह धार्मिका:
yathā hy upasthitaiśvaryāḥ prajāyante na rājasāḥ | evam evātmanātmānaṃ pūjayantīha dhārmikāḥ ||
ભીષ્મે કહ્યું—જેમ જેમનું ઐશ્વર્ય પહેલેથી જ સ્થિર છે, તેઓ રજોગુણપ્રેરિત ઉગ્ર પ્રયત્નથી પુનર્જન્મ તરફ દોડતા નથી; તેમ જ ધાર્મિકો અહીં આત્મા દ્વારા આત્માનું પૂજન કરે છે. ધર્માનુષ્ઠાનની શિસ્તથી, પોતાના પ્રયત્ન વડે, તેઓ પોતાના અંતઃકરણને ઉચ્ચ પદ સુધી ઉન્નત કરે છે—રજસના પ્રાબલ્યથી ફરી જન્મ-મૃત્યુના ચક્રમાં ન પડે તે માટે.
