कथितं त्वनयासत्यं गायत्रया कन्यया दिवि । विजेष्याम्यवशानू् सर्व ब्राद्मणांश्वर्मवासस:
kathitaṃ tv anayā satyaṃ gāyatrayā kanyayā divi | vijeṣyāmy avaśān sarvān brāhmaṇān carmavāsasaḥ |
અર્જુને કહ્યું—આકાશમાં સ્થિત ગાયત્રી નામની કન્યાએ જે કહ્યું કે બ્રાહ્મણો ક્ષત્રિયોથી શ્રેષ્ઠ છે, તે અસત્ય છે. મૃગચર્મ ધારણ કરનારા તે બ્રાહ્મણો મોટાભાગે પરાધીન અને વિવશ હોય છે; હું તેમને સૌને જીતું. ત્રણ લોકમાં કોઈ દેવ કે મનુષ્ય એવો નથી જે મને મારા રાજ્યથી ચ્યૂત કરી શકે; તેથી હું બ્રાહ્મણથી પણ શ્રેષ્ઠ છું.
