Adhyāya 152 — Bhīṣma’s Authorization for Yudhiṣṭhira’s Return to the Capital (नगरप्रवेशानुज्ञा)
यद्यकार्यमधर्म वा यदि वा प्राणनाशनम् । पतिर्ब्रूयाद् दरिद्रो वा व्याधितो वा कथंचन
yady akāryam adharmaṁ vā yadi vā prāṇanāśanam | patir brūyād daridro vā vyādhito vā kathaṁcana ||
પતિ જો દરિદ્ર થઈ જાય, કોઈ રોગથી પીડિત થાય, આપત્તિમાં ફસાઈ જાય, શત્રુઓની વચ્ચે પડી જાય અથવા બ્રાહ્મણના શાપથી દુઃખ ભોગવે—એવી સ્થિતિમાં તે જો ન કરવાનું કાર્ય, અધર્મ અથવા પ્રાણનાશ સુધીની આજ્ઞા પણ આપે, તો તેને આપત્તિકાળનો ધર્મ માની નિઃશંકપણે તરત જ પૂર્ણ કરવું જોઈએ.
