Adhyāya 152 — Bhīṣma’s Authorization for Yudhiṣṭhira’s Return to the Capital (नगरप्रवेशानुज्ञा)

जो प्रतिदिन शीघ्रतापूर्वक मर्यादाका बोध करानेवाली बुद्धिके द्वारा दुष्कर व्रतका आचरण करती है, पतिमें ही मन लगाती है और निरन्तर पतिके हित-साधनमें लगी रहती है, उसे पतिव्रत- धर्मके पालनका सुख प्राप्त होता है ।।

puṇyam etat tapaś caitat svargaś ca eṣa sanātanaḥ | yā nārī bhartṛparamā bhaved bhartṛvratā satī ||

આ કાર્ય મહાપુણ્ય છે; આ જ તપસ્યા છે અને આ જ સનાતન સ્વર્ગનું સાધન છે. જે સાધ્વી નારી પતિને જ પરમ માને, ભર્તૃવ્રતમાં અડગ રહે અને સતત પતિહિત તથા પતિસેવામાં લાગેલી રહે—તે નિઃસંદેહ પતિવ્રતા-ધર્મના પાલનથી ઉત્પન્ન સુખ પામે છે.
