evam astv iti tad-vākyaṁ mayoktaḥ prāha śaṅkaraḥ | tato māṁ jagato mātā dhāriṇī sarva-pāvanī …

Translation

મેં આમ કહ્યું ત્યારે શંકરે કહ્યું—“એવમસ્તુ, એવું જ થાઓ.” ત્યારબાદ જગતની માતા, સર્વનું ધારણ-પોષણ કરનારિ, સર્વપાવની શર્વાણી (ઉમા) એકાગ્રચિત્તે બોલ્યાં—“નિષ્પાપ! ભગવાને તને ‘સામ્બ’ નામનો પુત્ર આપ્યો છે.”
