धर्मनिन्दा–धर्मोपासनाफलम् तथा साध्वाचारलक्षणम्

संहिताध्यायिना भाव्य॑ गृहे वै गृहमेधिना । नित्यं स्वाध्यायिना भाव्यं न चाध्ययनजीविना

Transliteration

saṃhitādhyāyinā bhāvyaṃ gṛhe vai gṛhamedhinā | nityaṃ svādhyāyinā bhāvyaṃ na ca adhyayanajīvinā ||

Translation

મહેશ્વરે કહ્યું—ઘરમાં રહી ગૃહસ્થએ સંહિતાનો અભ્યાસ કરનાર અને શિસ્તબદ્ધ સ્વાધ્યાયી બનવું જોઈએ. તે નિત્ય સ્વાધ્યાયમાં રત રહે, પરંતુ અભ્યાસને જીવિકાનું સાધન ન બનાવે.
