स शूद्र: संशिततपा: सत्यवादी जितेन्द्रिय: । शुश्रूषुरतिथिं प्राप्त तप: संचिनुते महत्
sa śūdraḥ saṃśitatapāḥ satyavādī jitendriyaḥ | śuśrūṣur atithiṃ prāptaṃ tapaḥ saṃcinute mahat ||
તપમાં સંયમી, સત્યવાદી અને જિતેન્દ્રિય એવો તે શૂદ્ર, પોતાના ઘેર આવેલા અતિથિની શુશ્રૂષા કરીને મહાન તપનું પુણ્ય સંગ્રહે છે. તેના માટે સેવારૂપ ધર્મ જ કઠોર તપ કહેવાય છે।
