नास्याहं न मदीयो<यं पापं कुर्याद् विमानित: । इति दद्याद् भयादेव दृढं मूढाय पण्डित:
bhīṣma uvāca | nāsyāhaṃ na madīyo 'yaṃ pāpaṃ kuryād vimānitaḥ | iti dadyād bhayād eva dṛḍhaṃ mūḍhāya paṇḍitaḥ |
ભીષ્મે કહ્યું— ‘હું તેનો નથી અને તે મારો નથી; છતાં હું તેને કશું ન આપું તો તે અપમાનિત થઈ મારી સામે પાપકર્મ કરી બેસે’— આ ભયથી જ વિદ્વાન પુરુષ મૂર્ખને દૃઢપણે દાન આપે; આ ભયમૂલક દાન છે।
