अपो गच्छति यो ह्वात्र शशिनं होष प्रीणयेत् । शशी प्रीणयते देवान् पितृश्चैव महामते
apo gacchati yo hvātra śaśinaṃ hoṣa prīṇayet | śaśī prīṇayate devān pitṝṃś caiva mahāmate ||
દેવદૂતે કહ્યું: “હે મહામતિ! અહીં જે કોઈ જળ અર્પણ કરીને ચંદ્રને તૃપ્ત કરે છે—આ જાણો—તે દેવતાઓને અને પિતૃઓને પણ તૃપ્ત કરે છે.”
