आचारप्रशंसा

Praise of Ācāra as the Basis of Longevity, Fame, and Prosperity

दिनमें कभी मैथुन न करे। कुमारी कन्या और कुलटाके साथ कभी समागम न करे। अपनी पत्नी भी जबतक ऋतुस्नाता न हो तबतक उसके साथ समागम न करे। इससे मनुष्यको बड़ी आयु प्राप्त होती है ।।

divā kadācid maithunaṁ na kuryāt | kumārī-kanyayā saha ca kulaṭayā saha ca kadācid api samāgamaṁ na kuryāt | svāṁ bhāryām api yāvat ṛtu-snātaṁ na bhavati tāvat tayā saha samāgamaṁ na kuryāt | etena manuṣyo dīrgham āyur avāpnoti || sve sve tīrthe samācamya kārye samupakalpite | triḥ pītvāpo dviḥ pramṛjya kṛta-śauco bhaven naraḥ ||

ભીષ્મે કહ્યું—દિવસે કદી મૈથુન ન કરવું. કુમારી કન્યા તથા કુલટા સ્ત્રી સાથે કદી સમાગમ ન કરવો. પોતાની પત્ની પણ ઋતુસ્નાતા ન થાય ત્યાં સુધી નજીક ન જવું. તેથી મનુષ્ય દીર્ઘાયુ પામે છે. અને કાર્ય ઉપસ્થિત થાય ત્યારે પોતાના-પોતાના તીર્થસ્થાને આચમન કરીને ત્રણ વાર જળ પીવું અને બે વાર હોઠ પુંછવા; આમ કરવાથી મનુષ્ય શુદ્ધ થાય છે.
