ययातेर्वानप्रस्थतपःस्वर्गारोहणम् | Yayāti’s Vānaprastha Austerities and Ascent to Heaven
ययातिरुवाच अधर्मो न स्पृशेदेष महान् मामिह भार्गव | वर्णसंकरजो ब्रद्वान्निति त्वां प्रवृणोम्पहम्,ययाति बोले--भार्गव ब्रह्मन! मैं आपसे यह वर माँगता हूँ कि इस विवाहमें यह प्रत्यक्ष दीखनेवाला वर्णसंकरजनित महान् अधर्म मेरा स्पर्श न करे
yayātir uvāca | adharmo na spṛśed eṣa mahān mām iha bhārgava | varṇasaṅkarajo brāhmaṇn iti tvāṃ pravṛṇomy aham ||
યયાતિએ કહ્યું—હે ભાર્ગવ બ્રાહ્મણ! આ લગ્નમાં વર્ણસંકરથી ઉત્પન્ન થતો આ મહાન અધર્મ મને સ્પર્શ ન કરે—એવો વર હું આપથી માગું છું.
