ततो5शनिमुचो घोरांस्तडित्स्तनितनि:स्वनान् | तद्विघातार्थमसृजदर्जुनो 5प्यस्त्रमुत्तमम्
tato ’śanimuco ghorāṁs taḍit-stanita-niḥsvanān | tad-vighātārtham asṛjad arjuno ’py astram uttamam vāyavyam ||
પછી વીજળીની ચમક અને ગર્જનાથી ભયંકર એવા મેઘો ધરતી પર વજ્ર વરસાવવા લાગ્યા. તે આઘાતનો પ્રતિકાર કરવા, અસ્ત્ર-પ્રત્યસ્ત્ર વિદ્યામાં નિપુણ અર્જુને મંત્રબળે અભિમંત્રિત કરીને ‘વાયવ્ય’ નામનું ઉત્તમ અસ્ત્ર પ્રયોગ કર્યું; તેથી ઇન્દ્રના વજ્ર અને મેઘોનું તેજ તથા બળ નષ્ટ થયું.
