Suta Goswami (narrating to the sages of Naimisharanya)
It frames the proper approach to Shiva-dharma: first honoring the sacred authority (ṛṣi/guru) with reverence, then petitioning—an ethos mirrored in Liṅga-pūjā where humility and right orientation precede ritual acts.
Indirectly, it points to Shiva-tattva as accessed through grace (anugraha): the pashu (bound soul) approaches the path via surrender and reverence to realized sages who transmit the means to reach Pati (the Lord).
Guru-vandana and pūrva-sevā (honoring the teacher before inquiry) are highlighted—an essential discipline aligned with Pāśupata-style inner purification and right supplication.
