स्तूद्दैव चौर्वो विष्णुपादारविदं स्मृत्वास्मृत्वा रुद्धकण्ठो बभूव / ते पापिष्ठाः पापरूपान्भजन्तो दिनेदिने दुर्विषयान्कदिन्द्रियैः
stūddaiva caurvo viṣṇupādāravidaṃ smṛtvāsmṛtvā ruddhakaṇṭho babhūva / te pāpiṣṭhāḥ pāparūpānbhajanto dinedine durviṣayānkadindriyaiḥ
ત્યારે ચોર જાણે દૈવની સ્તુતિ કરતો હોય તેમ, વિષ્ણુના પાદપદ્મને વારંવાર સ્મરી રહ્યો; સ્મરણ કરતાં કરતાં તેનો કંઠ ભાવથી ગળે અટકી ગયો. પરંતુ તે મહાપાપી લોકો પોતાના પાપાનુરૂપ રૂપ ધારણ કરીને, દિવસે દિવસે નીચ ઇન્દ્રિયોથી હાનિકારક વિષયો પાછળ દોડે છે.
