Vidura’s Questions: How the Unchangeable Lord Relates to Māyā; Bhakti as the Remedy; Blueprint for the Coming Cosmology
etasmin me mano vidvan khidyate ’jñāna-saṅkaṭe tan naḥ parāṇuda vibho kaśmalaṁ mānasaṁ mahat
Such mental bewilderment as represented here by Vidura takes place for some living entities, but not for everyone, for if everyone were bewildered there would be no possibility of a solution by higher personalities.
This verse portrays ignorance as a dangerous entanglement that distresses the mind, and it urges seeking higher guidance to remove inner impurity and confusion.
Vidura, feeling troubled by the complexities of understanding reality, approaches the sage Maitreya to dispel his mental bewilderment through spiritual instruction.
Recognize confusion as a symptom of ignorance, then seek authentic spiritual guidance and practices that purify the heart—replacing anxiety with clarity and devotion.
