Prahlāda Rejects Demonic Diplomacy and Proclaims Navadhā Bhakti
तौ राज्ञा प्रापितं बालं प्रह्लादं नयकोविदम् । पाठयामासतु: पाठ्यानन्यांश्चासुरबालकान् ॥ २ ॥
tau rājñā prāpitaṁ bālaṁ prahlādaṁ naya-kovidam pāṭhayām āsatuḥ pāṭhyān anyāṁś cāsura-bālakān
રાજાએ મોકલેલા નીતિમાં નિપુણ એવા બાલક પ્રહ્લાદને તેઓ અન્ય અસુરબાળકો સાથે પોતાના પાઠશાળામાં પાઠ્યવિષયો શીખવવા લાગ્યા.
This verse indicates the king entrusted Prahlāda to formal instruction so he would be trained in the approved “curriculum” of the asuras, shaping him into a ruler aligned with demoniac values rather than devotion.
“Nayakovidam” describes Prahlāda as already skilled in proper conduct and discernment—suggesting innate maturity and steadiness even before being subjected to asuric schooling.
It highlights that external systems may impose values, yet inner character and devotion can remain intact; one can learn necessary skills while holding firmly to dharma and bhakti.
