Parīkṣit’s Vow on the Gaṅgā and the Advent of Śukadeva Gosvāmī
अत्रिर्वसिष्ठश्च्यवन: शरद्वा- नरिष्टनेमिर्भृगुरङ्गिराश्च । पराशरो गाधिसुतोऽथ राम उतथ्य इन्द्रप्रमदेध्मवाहौ ॥ ९ ॥ मेधातिथिर्देवल आर्ष्टिषेणो भारद्वाजो गौतम: पिप्पलाद: । मैत्रेय और्व: कवष: कुम्भयोनि- र्द्वैपायनो भगवान्नारदश्च ॥ १० ॥
atrir vasiṣṭhaś cyavanaḥ śaradvān ariṣṭanemir bhṛgur aṅgirāś ca parāśaro gādhi-suto ’tha rāma utathya indrapramadedhmavāhau
તેમજ મેધાતિથિ, દેવલ, આર્ષ્ટિષેણ, ભારદ્વાજ, ગૌતમ, પિપ્પલાદ, મૈત્રેય, ઔર્વ, કવષ, કુંભયોની (અગસ્ત્ય), દ્વૈપાયન (વ્યાસ) અને ભગવાન નારદ પણ ત્યાં આવ્યા।
Cyavana: A great sage and one of the sons of Bhṛgu Muni. He was born prematurely when his pregnant mother was kidnapped. Cyavana is one of the six sons of his father.
This verse highlights the extraordinary spiritual gravity of King Parīkṣit’s final days—great ṛṣis gathered to bless him and to participate in the supreme act of hearing and speaking Śrīmad Bhāgavatam, a direct path to liberation through bhakti.
