श्रीभगवानुवाच मिथो भजन्ति ये सख्य: स्वार्थैकान्तोद्यमा हि ते । न तत्र सौहृदं धर्म: स्वार्थार्थं तद्धि नान्यथा ॥ १७ ॥

શ્રીભગવાન બોલ્યા—જે લોકો પરસ્પર મિત્રતા બતાવીને માત્ર પોતાના સ્વાર્થ માટે પ્રેમ કરે છે, તેઓ ખરેખર સ્વાર્થી છે. ત્યાં ન સાચું સૌહાર્દ છે, ન ધર્મ. પોતાનો લાભ ન હોય તો તેઓ પ્રતિસાદ આપતા નથી.
