Sukta 5
महादेव एनमिष्वास ऊर्ध्वाया दिशो अन्तर्देशादनुष्ठातानु तिष्ठति नैनं शर्वो न भवो नेशानः
mahādevá enam iṣvā́sá ūrdhvā́yā diśó antardeśā́d anuṣṭhātā́ ánu tiṣṭhati náinam śarvó ná bhavó néśānaḥ
Mahādeva, the Archer, from the mid-region of the Upward Quarter, standeth attending after him; him neither Śarva, nor Bhava, nor Īśāna injureth.
ઊર્ધ્વ દિશાના અંતર્દેશ (મધ્ય પ્રદેશ)માંથી મહાદેવ—ઇષ્વાસ (ધનુર્ધર)—તેના પાછળ અનુષ્ઠાતા રૂપે ઊભો રહી રક્ષા કરે છે; તેને શર્વ, ભવ કે ઈશાન—કોઈ પણ—હાનિ પહોંચાડતા નથી.
