Suta Goswami
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
Cosmic Event: Transcendence of Kāla (time) and governance of all kāraṇas (causal principles)
It establishes Shiva as Pati—the supreme Lord who transcends Kāla (Time) and yet governs all causal principles, indicating that liberation comes by turning to the timeless Lord rather than remaining bound to time-driven change.
The Linga symbolizes the Lord who is beyond form and time (nirguṇa) while also being the presiding ruler accessible through worship (saguṇa); thus Linga-upāsanā becomes a means to contemplate and approach the transcendent Lord described here.
Meditate on Shiva as Kāla-atīta (beyond Time) while repeating the Panchākṣarī mantra “Om Namaḥ Śivāya,” and support the contemplation with traditional Shaiva disciplines like Tripuṇḍra (bhasma) and Rudrākṣa as aids to steadiness and devotion.
