Account of the ‘Sādhu-veṣa’ Brahmin-Named Incarnation
Prelude
Lord Shiva
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Dakshinamurti
Role: teaching
The verse emphasizes that true Shaiva wisdom is grounded in direct realization (svavijñāna) and must be received with humility—renouncing pride and pretence—so that Shiva’s teaching can become transformative.
It frames the proper inner attitude for Saguna Shiva worship: approaching Shiva (and the Linga as His sacred presence) without outward show, but with sincerity, devotion, and readiness to hear and assimilate His instruction.
The practical takeaway is humility-based sādhanā: begin japa (such as the Panchakshara) and worship with a quiet mind, avoiding display; practice attentive śravaṇa (listening) and inward contemplation to cultivate direct understanding.
